Contact Made with Kidnappers of Fr Michael Sinnott

(27 Oct 09 - RV) Negotiations in the Philippines are ongoing for the release of abducted 79-year-old ailing Irish priest Father Michael Sinnott.

Direct talks with the kidnappers have been established, but so far, they have not demanded any ransom in exchange for his freedom.

The priest was taken by at least six assailants from his house in Pagadian city on October 11th.

This weekend the people of the city staged a three hour rally demanding his return as fears for his health condition mount.
