US Gives $8.5 Million in Food Aid to Philippines

(26 Oct 09 - RV) The U.S. government today announced $8.5 million in food aid for the Philippines, which is struggling to recover from back-to-back storms that killed more than 900 people. Jane Hart is the spokesperson for the World Food Programme. She says that flood waters in the Philippines have still not receded, and that long term recovery will be difficult.
