Catholic Council of India general body meeting in Nagpur
(October 22, 2009) The Catholic Council of India, CCI, will hold its 10th general
body meeting in Nagpur, Maharashtra from January 9-12, next year. The venue of the
biennial meeting will be the Pallottine Animation Center, in Nagpur Archdiocese, announced
Fr. Varghese Pullan, CCI secretary. The main theme of the 4-day event will be, “Youth”,
which will be dealt with on the first two days; whereas “Current issues and problems
affecting the Church and the Nation" will be discussed on the last two days. The
Catholic Council of India was established in 1993 by the Catholic Bishops Conference
of India, CBCI, the apex body of the Catholic Church in India. CCI members include
bishops, priests, men and women religious as well as lay people.
