Lay Down Your Weapons, Open Your Minds

(02 Oct 09 - RV) Today marks the International Day of Non Violence.

In 2007 the day was adopted by 192 member States of the United Nations, and has since been held on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who helped lead India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom around the world.

Fr John Dear is a Jesuit priest, a member of Pax Christi USA and the author of a prayer that celebrates this year’s International Day of Non Violence. He spoke with us about the significance of the day for Christians: RealAudioMP3
