Malaysian Man Caned for Alcohol Consumption

(15 Sept 09 - RV) An Islamic judge in Malaysia has ordered a Muslim man to be caned and jailed for drinking alcohol. The sentence followed upon another sentencing in July of a Malaysian woman  to six cane strokes and a fine for drinking beer in public, triggering public outrage.
