Aung San Suu Kyi's Birthday is Marked with Support

(19 June 09 - RV) The European Union also agreed  today to step up sanctions on Myanmar also known as Burma, because of the Asian country's treatment of opponents.
The country’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi spent her 64th birthday in detention today as supporters worldwide condemned her trial and called for tougher sanctions against the military regime.To mark Suu Kyi’s birthday, Burma Campaign UK has created the website 64forSuu.org – where anyone in the world can leave a video, text, twitter or image message of support for the imprisoned democracy leader.
