The Regional Significance of Election Results in Lebanon
(09 June 09 - RV) Pro-Western forces won Lebanon’s elections yesterday with Saad al-Hariri's
anti-Syrian bloc winning 71 of parliament's 128 seats, against the 57 seats won by
an opposition alliance that groups Shi'ite factions Hezbollah and Amal with Christian
leader Michel Aoun.
