(06 June 09 - RV) E.U. elections are heading into their final phase, with the bulk
of the voting scheduled to take place starting tomorrow morning.
Over a half
billion people will be represented in the European parliament being chosen, and over
300 million people are eligible to vote, making these the largest trans-national elections
in history.
Professor of International Relations at the American University
of Rome, Professor James Walston, told us that despite the breadth and diversity of
the body of electors, many ballots are likely to be cast with a view to national political
concerns.
