An Animated comedy adventure entitled "Up" inaugurated the 62nd edition
of the Cannes film festival on Wednesday. And organisers are preparing to unroll the
red carpet for the parade of stars this evening, although this year’s festival is
expected to feature fewer of the celebrity driven events that are its hallmark as
studios have cut budgets in the recession. However the glamour of Cannes remains a
powerful magnet for the industry. Film critic Peter Malone who heads the film office
at Signis – the World Catholic Association for Communication is in Cannes right now
