(22 April 09-RV) South Africans went to the polls today to cast their vote in a general
election that is testing the strength of a new opposition party that grew out of the
ruling African National Congress. Millions of people joined the voting rolls for the
first time, and ANC leader Jakob Zuma has called for the highest possible participation
