Christians in Orissa India Face New Wave of Persecution

(22 April 09-RV) India's Maoist rebels, have stepped up attacks in their strongholds in central and eastern India during the election. Archbishop Raphael Cheenath of the Cuttack- Bhubaneshwar diocese has issued a statement warning that death  threats by Hindu nationalists against Christians in the state of Orissa are a new wave of persecution aimed at flushing Christians out of the region.
