(7 Apr 09 - RV) Rescue workers searched frantically for survivors believed buried
under mountains of rubble after Italy's deadliest quake in nearly three decades struck
the medieval city of Aquila early yesterday morning, killing more than 179 people,
injuring 1,500 and leaving tens of thousands homeless. Pope Benedict XVI sent a telegram
to Archbishop Molinari of Aquila expressing "his heartfelt participation in the suffering
