Pope Sends Condolences on Death of Cardinal Betti

(02 Apr 09 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI sent a telegram of condolences to the Superior General of the Franciscan order of Friars Minor, on news of the death of Cardinal Umberto Betti.
Cardinal Betti, once rector of the Pontifical University of St John Latern, died yesterday at the age of 87, in the Franciscan monastery of Fiesole, Florence.
Cardinal Betti also worked in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and was elevated to Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007.
