Italy Seeks to Continue Nutrition to Comatose Patients
(7 Feb 09 - RV) Italy’s Prime Minister is due present a draft bill to parliament next
week barring doctors from stopping nutrition to comatose patients. The move comes
after Italian president Giorgio Napolitano refused to sign a decree to save the life
of Eluana Englaro, a woman who has been in a coma since a 1992 car crash and whose
food and fluid is being discontinued.
