Peace Hopes for Gaza

(07 Jan 09 - RV) France and Egypt have co-sponsored a ceasefire deal which they hope will end the fighting in Gaza, but Israel says its support is conditional, while Hamas says the deal is unacceptable.

Even if a ceasefire goes into effect, most observers say it will only be a temporary halt to the violence.
