(10 Dec 08 - RV) The second annual Irish Film Festa is currently on in Rome and has
a wide variety of Irish films, both new, like Chippers, and old, like Rocky Road to
Dublin. Saviours, which has won many awards, was shown on Monday and is an observational
documentary about three boxers from the inner-city Dublin St. Saviours boxing club,
and their struggles in both the sport and in life. Co-directors of Saviours, Liam
Nolan and Ross Whitaker, spoke about why the film is not just about boxing but appeals
to the general audience.
