India's Prime Minister Speaks Out on the Country's Religious Violence

(13 Oct 08 - RV) India’s Prime Minister today said he was deeply hurt at religious violence in the country.He also added that forces were deliberately encouraging such tendencies and spawning militant groups and they must be dealt with firmly."He made the comments during a meeting of the National Integration Council, made up of a panel of public figures.
The meeting came as violence against Christians continued in India’s eastern Orissa state.
