A South African Court Throws Out Corruption Case Against Jacob Zuma
(12 Sept 08 - RV) A South African court ruled today that a corruption case against
ruling party leader Jacob Zuma cannot go ahead. He was facing charges of corruption,
fraud and money laundering relating to a 1999 arms deal. The decision effectively
clears the path for the 66-year-old to become South African president next year. But
Gunther Simmermacher, editor of the Catholic weekly Southern Cross, said the cloud
of corruption will follow Mr Zuma ….
