Over 120,000 Evauated From India's Bihar State


(28 Aug 08 - RV) Indian army troops helped evacuate more than 120,000 people from floods in the northern Bihar state but more bad weather has raised fears that rivers would to continue to overflow. Food riots broke out in some local villages yesterday leaving at least one person dead. The Executive Director of Caritas India Father Varghese Mattamana says that the panic is understandable.
