Evangelisation Should Fire Catholic Communication”, Bellary Bishop

Addressing the participants of the Karnataka Regional Catholic Communication, Bishop Henry D’Souza, of Bellary declared, “Evangelisation should be the central theme of communication. It should fire all Catholic Communication Apostolate. True Evangelisation brings all round emancipation and progress of individuals and communities and transformation and meaning into people’s lives. Communication is a constant relationship which empowers and enables somebody’s life. Therefore communication should be the core strand which runs through all aspects of Catholic communication – be it formation, broadcasting, print media, promotion of performing arts and the electronic medias”. Speaking on the present Indian situation the recently consecrated Bishop of Bellary insisted, “The Catholic Communications in India should be more inter religious in perspective and truly ecumenical in its operation.” “The Catholic Communication centres should desist from becoming isolated islands rather they should become gardens which attract people of all walks of life particularly the media professionals” he emphasized. “Building interactive net works with media professionals and ever expanding Media houses should be the top priority of Catholic Communicators” he added.
