(06 Aug 08 - RV) A report released by the UN World Food Programme and the government
in Nepal says that the country is experiencing major food shortages.
The
findings show that much of the reason for the deficit is rising food prices and access
to food for people living in rural areas who don’t produce enough to feed themselves.
The
WFP Country Representative for Nepal, Richard Reagan says their efforts to get food
to the most vulnerable are being hindered by bad weather, fuel shortages and the political
situation.
