ASEAN Countries Criticise Burma for Disaster Response
(24 July 08 - RV) Asia-Pacific nations today called for greater coordination in dealing
with natural disasters, including deploying military resources, in a region prone
to earthquakes, cyclones and tsunamis. The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), which brings
together the 10 members of the Association of South East Asian Nations with other
Asia-Pacific powers, also criticised Myanmar’s ruling military junta for its response
