(23 July 08 - RV) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today Iran will not "retreat
one iota" over its disputed nuclear programme.
At a meeting with Iran's chief
nuclear negotiator in Geneva on Saturday, six world powers gave Iran two weeks to
answer calls to rein in its nuclear activities or face tougher sanctions.
We
spoke with Mark Fitzpatrick, a Senior Fellow for Non-Proliferation at the International
Institute For Strategic Studies.
He says that the stalemate in negotiations
with Iran will likely last until the end of the Bush administration’s final year in
office.
