More than a day past what experts call the critical three-day
window for finding survivors, rescue workers in China saved a 10-year-old girl who
had been trapped under her collapsed elementary school for 100 hours, and a 52 year-old
man pinned under rubble for nearly 120.

could reach 50 thousand while authorities prepare for the daunting task of housing
and feeding millions left homeless.
ICRC spokesperson Matthew Cochran told
us the Chinese government’s response has been impressive.
