Sudan Pressured To Hand Over War Crimes Suspects

(28 Apr 08 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI’s appeal for an end to the horror of Darfur comes amid a campaign launched this week by an international coalition of 29 human rights groups.

The campaign marks the first anniversary of the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for two suspects of alleged human rights abuses and war crimes - Ahmed Haroun, Sudan's Humanitarian Affairs Minister, and Ali Kushayb, a Janjaweed militia leader.
