Myanmar Publishes New Constitution

(12 Apr 08 -RV) Myanmar’s proposed new constitution was published earlier this week by the country’s military rulers.

Critics say that the new rules outlined in the document will cement the military’s dominance in the political system.

In May a national poll will be held where at least 50% of votes will be needed to approve the constitution for it to become law.
