(7 Mar 2008-RV)Tomorrow’s upcoming election in Malaysia is expected to yield an easy
return to power by the National Front which has won every election since 1969. But
the opposition wants to deny the ruling coalition a two-thirds majority, the level
needed to change the constitution. Currently, Malaysian law and practice allow the
ruling coalition to campaign freely but put severe restraints on opposition groups,
limiting their access to the media and the right to hold campaign rallies. Father
