Cardinal Bertone Returns From Cuba

(27 Feb 08 - RV)The Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone returned early this morning from a visit to Cuba, marking the 10^th anniversary of John Paul II’s historic voyage to the island nation that has been under communist dictatorship for nearly a half century. The United States has kept an embargo of Cuba in place since communists led by Fidel Castro came to power, and the Caribbean island nation suffers chronic shortages of basic goods.
