Pax Christi International Holds World Assembly

(2 November 07 - RV) Pax Chrisit International has been holding its world assembly in Belgium this week, focusing on the main concerns and areas of action for the organisation for the next three years. Outgoing President, Michel Sabbah, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, has handed over leadership to two new Co-Presidents: Archbishop Laurent Monsenwo of the Democratic Republic of Congo and American Marie Dennis, formerly head of the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns. Marie Dennis spoke with Philippa Hitchen about the significance of the visit of assembly participants on All Souls Day to the Flemish town of Ypres to see the war memorials honoring all those who died there during the First World War.
