Pope says religion must not be used as an instrument of hatred
(Oct 22, 2007) Pope Benedict XIV on Sunday told an important gathering of religious
leaders from around the world that faith must never be allowed to become a vehicle
of hatred. The Pope addressed scholars and religious leaders attending a three-day
inter-faith gathering in the southern Italian port city of Naples. The conference
is on the theme, "For a World Without Violence: Religions and Cultures in Dialogue".
