Lisbon Treaty to Recognize Religious Groups in the E.U.
(19 October 07 - RV) European Union leaders today adopted the draft a new treaty that
they hope makes the twenty-seven nation bloc a more influential in world affairs.
The so-called "Treaty of Lisbon" contains an article which gives religious groups
the right to engage officially with the E.U. Secretary General of the Commission
of Bishops' Conferences in the European Union, Monsignor Noel Treanor, told us more
about the significance of the article.
