(21 Sep 07 - RV) A U.N.-backed genocide tribunal today indicted former Khmer Rouge leader Nuon Chea with ordering the murder and torture of civilians in Cambodia in the 1970s.
Atrocities during the Khmer rouge’s 1975-79 rule caused the deaths of some 1.7 million people.
