In India St. Xavier’s College Ahmedabad gets top Accreditation Grade
(18 Apr. 2007) : The National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore (NAAC)
re-accredited the Jesuit-run St. Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad in the west Indian
state of Gujarat, with A+ grade on Tuesday. This is the highest grade given so far
to the reputed college by NAAC. St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad was the first Institution
of Higher Education to voluntarily opt for Accreditation in 2000. On January 19, 2001,
it was awarded the highest ranking of 5 stars. As per the guidelines of NAAC, an institution
is to go for Re-Accreditation after a period of five years. The College did just that
and has been given once again the highest ranking of A+. St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad
is one of the 16 Colleges at the National Level to achieve the highest given grade
of A+ at the Re-accreditation level. Jesuit Fr Francis Parmar, is the principal of
the well known college which is known both for academic excellence and socially relevant
activities.
