KEEPING HOPE ALIVE


As African Union peacekeepers step up their presence in wartorn Darfur, we hear from two aid agencies that are providing food, shelter and above all hope to hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people struggling to survive in cramped and squalid camps. The World Food Programme brings food to people in about 150 camps in the region, while a joint Caritas-Action for Churches Together operation runs programmes providing food, medicine and education, as well as services for agriculture, peace building and psycho-social care...
