(21 September 2006 - RV) Today is the 25th United Nations' World Day for Peace. More
than 3500 events in 187 countries are marking the recurrence. In his weekly audience
address yesterday, Pope Benedict XVI called for continuing dialogue among those of
different religious convictions, especially between Christians and Muslims. The Holy
Father quoted from the Second Vatican Council's document on the Church's relationship
to non-Christian believers, Nostra Aetate, in which the Church called for promoting
peace in the world together with muslims. Visiting professor of political philosophy
at the Pontifical Gregorian University Giorgio Salzano spoke with Christ Altieri about
the basis of good dialogue.
