South African Bishops Warn Against Traditional African Practices


(17 Aug 06 - RV) The bishops of South Africa have issued a letter stating that Catholic priests can no longer act as traditional tribal healers. The letter lamented the fact that many African Catholics still resort to the practices of traditional African religions when faced with difficult moments in their lives, including illnesses.
