Suffering in Silence

(25 November 2005 - RV) Friday marks the U.N international day for the elimination of violence against women. The World Health Organisation has issued a report which says one in six women worldwide suffers domestic violence, yet many remain silent about the assaults. Co-ordinator for the W.H.O study on women's health and domestic violence, Doctor Claudia Garcia-Moreno says the violence is widespread.
