World Day of the Seas

(29 Sep 05 - RV) The International Maritime Organisation marked the "World Day of the Seas" on Thursday. The day is used to raise awareness of maritime cultures, and the men and women who work every day in and around shipping. This year's theme is "international shipping, career of world trade." The secretary of the Pontifical Council for Migrants and Itinerant peoples, Archbishop Agostino Marchetto, talks about what the Church is doing to promote the welfare of sailors.
