(09 Sept 2005 RV) Pope Benedict XVI’s nomination of 4 chinese bishops to the upcoming
october synod has been greeted with enthusiam. Archbishop Joseph Zen of Hong kong
says he hopes the chinese governemet will authorise the bishops journey to rome for
the pastoral gathering. if so, it will be the first time that representatives of both
the official church and underground catholic church will attend the same assembly.
