The Bishops of Latin America Celebrate 50 Years of CELAM

(18 MAY 2005-RV) The commission of the Bishops of Latin America, or CELAM, is currently meeting for it's general assembly in Lima, Peru. It's also celebrating it's 50th anniversary.
Father Patrick Byrnes worked in Latin America for almost 20 years before taking up a post in the Vatican's department for evangelisation, he told us about the challenges facing the church there.
