Messages for the Pope in Saint Peter's Square

The Obelisk at the heart of Saint Peter's Square has been transformed into a monument to the memory of Pope John Paul II.
The grey granite pillar has been covered with spontaneous messages from the hundreds and thousands of pilgrims who want ot say 'thank you' to their Pope.
